About the Author

Lama Surya Das is one of the most learned and highly trained American-born lamas in the Tibetan Dzogchen tradition. He has spent forty years studying Zen, vipassana, yoga, and Tibetan Buddhism with the great masters of Asia, including the Dalai Lama’s own teachers, and is an authorized lama and lineage holder in the Nyingmapa School of Tibetan Buddhism. He is the founder of the Dzogchen Center and, with the Dalai Lama, the Western Buddhist Teachers Network. He is a sought-after speaker who conducts retreats around the world. Lama Surya Das has been featured in numerous publications and major media and is the author of many books, including Buddha Standard Time, Awakening the Buddha Within, and Awakening to the Sacred.
